You can make Turkeys out of many Fall things...two years ago we made them from Fall Gourds (super silly and very cute), and who doesn't love the handprint turkeys that kids make at school?! As it turns out, Turkeys are just cute.
Last Fall I had found a huge bag of pinecones that smelled like cinnamon (yumm) and came up with as many crafts as I could to enjoy them, including this very sweet Thanksgiving Turkey.

Making a Simple Pinecone Turkey
Here are your supplies:
1. Pinecones (ours were pretty big)
2. Eyeballs
3. Beak (we used orange rocks from our rock bins)
4. Comb (we had some red dolphin beads that when turned upside down and glued on looked like perfect turkey cones!)
5. Waddle (some red string or yarn works great)
6. Feathers!!!
I did this activity in very small groups, so we were able to use a hot glue gun together very carefully. But, some nice tacky glue and paintbrushes would work great for a larger group!
**As you might notice in the top right corner of the photo, we also made mini pumpkin pies the same day! An added bonus for a day celebrating all that we are thankful for :)
