FALL is here! I can feel it in the air (and hear it in our stuffy voices at preschool). We had a nice warm day with the fire on, chicken noodle soup for lunch, and our first Fall project!
Fletcher and the Falling Leaves by Julia Rawlinson
This is my personal favorite when it comes to Fall preschool books. I can't read it enough! We even have our cute little Fletcher stuffed animal to read with (and his Mom too).
Our Project this Fall
After enjoying the story, I had the kids draw their own tree :) I gave them a half sheet of ivory construction paper with FALL written on it, as well as the year and their name.
I had a bunch of red, yellow, and orange construction paper squares out and ready. The kids got to tear the paper into tiny pieces to be their leaves! This is great fine-motor development because it is a challenge for them to tear it.
Just like Fletcher, we tried to put all our "fallen leaves" back onto our tree! This is nice practice for using glue sticks.
Some of Our Trees!
The kids could spend as long as they wanted making their tree. Some finished in ten minutes, others took a half hour :) The trees all turned out super cute, and the loved seeing them up on our wall!
